Paul Finebaum: Deion Sanders, Colorado in midst of 'one of the most remarkable turnarounds of all time'

Paul Finebaum is delivering Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes their flowers ahead of Week 11.

The 6-2 Big 12 squad is on the road this weekend, as Colorado will take on Texas Tech in Lubbock. While Finebaum believes it won't be an easy game for Sanders and company against the 6-3 Red Raiders, he named the Buffaloes as one of the more remarkable turnarounds he's ever seen regardless of the outcome, which is some high praise.

"This is a dangerous game. Remember, last week this Tech team beat Iowa State, and playing at Lubbock is a challenge. I believe Colorado has come around though," Finebaum said, via Get Up. "They have so many outstanding players, and really, whatever happens this season, it has been one of the most remarkable turnarounds of all time, especially if they can find a way to get to the championship game in the Big 12."

Perhaps Finebaum has a bit of recency bias and is being hyperbolic, as there's been plenty of other turnarounds similar to the Buffaloes' own, but the job Sanders has done with his program in Boulder is certainly something to behold. Colorado is already bowl-eligible, but they're reaching for much more than that, with the College Football Playoff on their mind.

Finebaum doesn't know if that's realistic, as he mentioned earlier this week, but the fact that Colorado is even adding their name to the conversation is something the SEC Network analyst believes the Buffaloes should be proud of.

"No, I think they'll come very close," Finebaum said earlier this week, via First Take. "I think this weekend is tricky. They have a couple of other games, but the fact that we're even having a conversation on the sixth of November, to me, it may not be surprising to Stephen A, but it's shocking to me because I undervalued them and I over valued the rest of the league.

"But I think they can get to the championship game. I'm not sure right now they have enough to get past , but I think if they did, Stephen A, we're talking about one of the greatest, most significant and important college football stories of all time."

If Colorado can get past Texas Tech, the road becomes more clear. It's certainly not easy by any means, but each team on their schedule after the Red Raiders are at .500 or worse entering Week 11, which shapes up well for the Buffaloes.
