Pauline J. Tabit, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday evening.
She was born in Hardine, Lebanon, and educated in the college of the
Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent DePaul. Pauline came to America in 1947 with
her husband, James, and four children and lived the remainder of her life in
Wilkes-Barre. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Melanie Mouallem and
the niece of the late Monsignor Chor-Bishop David El-Mouallem. Pauline was a
member of St. George Maronite R.C. Church, Wilkes-Barre, and its Altar &
Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by husband, James A. Tabit; brothers, Emil and
Peter Mouallem.

Surviving are children, Diana Vernitsky, New Cumberland; Mary Theresa
Dennis, Camp Hill; David Yardley; Emil, West Wyoming; John, Larksville;
Joseph, Plains Township; sisters, Marie El-Mir, Wilkes-Barre; Laura Lopko,
Philadelphia; brother, Dr. Hamid Mouallem, New York City; 12 grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Services, 59
Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 9:30 a.m. in St. George Maronite
Church, Loomis Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Those who desire may give memorial contributions to St. Anthony/St. George
Maronite Church, Loomis Street, Wilkes-Barre.
