Pedestrian in her 70s dies after weekend crash

A woman in her 70s has died after being knocked down in west Belfast at the weekend.

She was one of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle in the Hannahstown Hill area at 18:50 GMT on Saturday.

The police said the vehicle had been involved in a collision with another vehicle. The second woman's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The police said the drivers of the two vehicles were not injured and they have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Three people were hurt aboard a single-engine plane that crashed Sunday near a Southern California dragstrip where fans were gathered for the finals of a racing event, authorities said.
