A.Kim25 min ago
The incident occurred this morning at around 11.30am at Bóthar Bhreandán Uí Eithir – which links Bohermore and Prospect Hill to Forster Street and Fairgreen Road – and involved a pedestrian and a car.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Galway.

A garda spokesperson told the Irish Independent Bóthar Bhreandán Uí Eithir is currently closed for a technical examination to be carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The incident resulted in heavy traffic in the area as there is no access to Forster Street.

A diversion is in place from Bohermore via St Bridget's Place/Hidden Valley to the Headford Road.

Due to the incident, Citylink annocuned that the 5pm and the 7.30pm service from Galway to Ballina will pick up passengers at Harry's Bar in Bohermore (H91EF97) instead of the usual Forster Court stop.
