Pedestrian Killed by Driver Near South Pasadena
A pedestrian in her 40s was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking outside a crosswalk near the Harbor (110) Freeway in Highland Park near South Pasadena and an investigation is underway.
The collision occurred around 9:50 p.m. Thursday and officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck Division responded to the southbound freeway and Marmion Way, where they learned the driver was driving north on Marmion when she struck the victim, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
Paramedics from the nearby South Pasadena Fire Department were contacted and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
The LAPD's Central Traffic Division is in charge of the investigation.
