The highway tax is proposed to increase by 5 cents to 49 cents per $1,000 of assessed value. The fire protection tax is proposed to stay stable at $1.12 per $1,000 of assessed value.
The proposed budget also includes raises for all town officers in 2025. The supervisor's salary is going up to $28,889 from $28,048. Four board members are proposed to receive $12,360 each, up from $12,000. The highways superintendent's salary will rise to $57,114 from $55,450 and the town clerk salary will rise to $62,990 from $61,155.
Councilman Wolfgang Buechler said that the members of the board are looking at enhancing the town's tennis courts to be adapted as pickle ball courts. He also said that with for community center, some funds in 2025 will go toward tables and chairs. However, he said he doesn't know of any capital projects planned for the year ahead.
