one goal in 55 shorthanded situations so far this season.
he Phantoms were missing two players who played
a key part in the 7-1 victory over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, Oct. 7. C

two goals in that game, were on recall in the National Hockey League with the
Philadelphia Flyers.
undermanned on the forward line (they dressed nine forwards and eight
defensemen as their 17 skaters). So at times, Philadelphia used just two
forwards and three defensemen on shifts. Most of the time, defenseman Dan
Peters moved up on the wing. However, there were a couple of occasions on
power plays when John Slaney moved up on the wing. Slaney played some forward
during the 1999-2000 season when he was a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Penguins.
ORPIK A SCRATCH: D Brooks Orpik was one of four players scratched from
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s lineup on Saturday. It was the first time Pittsburgh’s
top pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft sat out. C/RW Billy Tibbetts was
scratched as he finished a three-game suspension. The other scratches were C
Jan Fadrny and C/LW Robert Dome.
THREE STARS: Philadelphia RW Mark Greig, two goals, plus-1;
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton center Shane Endicott, two goals, plus-1; Philadelphia C
Mike Lephart, game-winning goal.
