Penn State Report Card: Letting one loss turn into two? Not a problem
S.Wright14 hr ago
OFFENSE: All the issues were addressed - got the ball to the wideouts, converted third downs (10 of 13), ran it when everybody in the joint knew it was coming (for 266 yards). The only slight negative was a scoreless third quarter. Grade: A-minus.
DEFENSE: Largely dominant, especially the pass rush. Held a team that can run it to 2.2 yards per rush. Best tackling game of the year. But a staple of Washington's offense was drawing flags. Too many mental errors. Grade: B-plus.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Kicker Ryan Barker missed for the first time. Bad holding penalty cost Nick Singleton a kickoff return TD. NJo real damage, but the Lions didn't win this phase. Grade: C.
