Pennsylvania has a plethora of paranormal phenomena, from the Smurl haunting to t he Kecksburg UFO incident to the poor squonk .

So is it any surprise, really, that Pennsylvania has deemed one of the most haunted states in these United States of America?

Airport Parking Reservations — which, according to its " About Us " page, "is the trusted source for airport parking, helping you research, find, and book the parking space that best suits your needs, at best possible price" — sent a study out via press release covering the most haunted states in the country, as stated above.

This study assessed all 50 states on five key metrics: "Haunted house and ghost conversations online;" "Haunted house searches per year;" "Ghost searches per year;" "'Ghost Hunters' or 'Ghost Adventures' episodes filmed;" and "Haunted locations reported by Ghost Quest."

Based on all of this, Airport Parking Reservations deemed Pennsylvania as the second most haunted state in America. The Keystone State was found to have about 85,000 roughly 177,600 haunted house searches per year.

On top of that, Pennsylvania was found to have an estimated 325,200 searches for ghost for year, and a total 40 episodes of "Ghost Hunters" and "Ghost Adventures" episodes under its belt. Ghost Quest, too, has over 700 haunted Pennsylvania locations listed on the site.

Alas, Pennsylvania's haunted status was beaten only by California in first place. Rounding out the top three was New York in third.
