Pensacola police have charged a 17-year-old girl in an Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated photo case.

The girl turned herself in to the police on Thursday, according to officers.

She's charged with promoting an altered sexual depiction of an identifiable person without consent, which is a third-degree felony.

"Investigators discovered that [she] obtained the cell phone of a male acquaintance that contained AI generated nude photos of 14 females," Pensacola Police say in a release. "[She] made a copy of the photos with her cell phone and held on to the photos for a month. Lee then disseminated the photos to 17 high school students, some of which were not depicted in the AI generated photos."

No further details have been released at this time.
