"I was up all night last night. I think a lot of Americans were. And I think we were witnessing something that's very historic. A lot of the swing states were covered in red. And I think a lot of people wanted to see Donald Trump back in the White House again," Anthony Bunch said. "Very happy with the results, of course. And, everything went as planned," James Williams said. Those were just some of the reactions from people living in and around the Charleroi area after it was announced that former President Donald Trump won his reelection bid to the White House. The small Washington County borough was mentioned several times on the campaign trail by the former president. These comments apply to Charleroi's immigrant population which has been clarified by local leaders saying that's about 2,500 people. Some local and state leaders pushed back on the comments, specifically targeting the Haitian community who have temporary protected status. "Whether Charleroi was somewhat a thorn in Trump's side, that shed light on an issue that maybe people could say, 'Hey, he's wrong, but we still support the guy.' It's American logic. What I blame is, like, the government and whoever did this to begin with," Williams said. As for what many people said they want to see from former President Donald Trump as soon as he takes office is for him to tackle grocery prices specifically, and rent prices.
