NEWARK, NJ — Newark residents can bring their whole family—including pets—for a festive photo with Santa Claus at an upcoming benefit event.

"Santa Paws: Photos with Santa" will benefit the Associated Humane Societies' animal shelter in Newark. The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Newark Local Beer Brewery, 538 Broad Street.

Visitors are invited to bring their dogs, cats and kids for a festive meet-and-greet with Santa. Learn more or pre-register here .

Here's what to know if you plan to go, organizers said:

"No pre-registration? No problem! We will also accept cash at the door. Please note that photos are on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration fees are non-refundable as they are considered a donation to support the animals in our care. All photos will be emailed and uploaded to our Facebook page for immediate download. Upon your arrival you will be assigned a number. These numbers are to help with crowd control and ensure that the line moves swiftly and smoothly. Each session is capped at 10 minutes. All animals are welcome. Please be sure small animals and cats are kept in carriers and dogs on leash at all times until you're ready for your pictures. All animals must have proof of rabies vaccinations."
