PG&E enacts Public Safety Power Shutoff, outage reported in NW Bakersfield
Strong winds are the possible cause for power outages impacting the Kern County area.
PG&E said throughout California.
According to the outage map, a PSPS is happening in Kern County. It said:
Due to high winds and dry conditions, power in your area has been turned off to help prevent a wildfire. Once weather has improved, we will begin inspecting power lines and equipment for possible damage. Power will be restored as soon as it is safe to do so.Customers in northwest Bakersfield are experiencing power outages. It is impacting 2,168 customers with no estimated time on when power will be restored.

Our Eyewitness News Weather Authority said a large surface high pressure system is already spreading gusty north winds southward into Nevada and that same cold front will pass through southern California tomorrow. A classic Santa Ana wind should be the result. A High Wind WARNING is in place through mid-day Thursday for the Los Angeles basin as northeasterly gusts to as high as 80 MPH are predicted.
