Phase II of EPISD redesign wraps up, board to consider next steps in October

Z.Baker1 hr ago

The El Paso Independent School District held its last Destination District Redesign meeting for phase II of the project on Monday.

The meeting informed the Franklin High School community of the condition of the elementary campuses.

The schools on Franklin High School's feeder pattern are:

  • Guerrero Elementary
  • Herrera Elementary
  • Kohlberg Elementary
  • Lundy Elementary
  • Polk Elementary
  • Tippin Elementary
  • Five out of the six schools have their facility rated as "good" or "fair" condition, while Polk Elementary has a facility rating of "poor low."

Despite the facility rating, Polk has the highest utilization percentage, of 119.

This means that the school is being used at capacity as parents in the district chose the campus for their students.

No recommendations or mentions of changes were talked about during Monday's meeting.

The EPISD school board is set to receive a Phase II recommendation on October 15.

Phase III will happen after the board meeting.
