On Saturday, November 25, 2023, Showers Common at 401 N. Morton St. in Bloomington hosted an eventful Holiday Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event commenced at 10 a.m. with the opening of the Holiday Market, providing visitors with an array of locally grown farm products, arts, and crafts from local artisans.
Throughout the day, guests were entertained by various performances. The Bloomington Chamber Singers performed live music from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by visits with St. Nick from 11 a.m. to noon. A preview performance of The Nutcracker by IU Ballet delighted the audience at 11:30 a.m.
At noon, Constellation Stage & Screen presented songs from Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musical, adding a theatrical flavor to the festivities. St. Nick returned for visits from 12:30 to 2 p.m., spreading holiday cheer among attendees.
The afternoon continued with a lively performance by Don’t Call Me Betty, rocking the stage with live rock ‘n’ roll and holiday covers from 1 to 2 p.m. The Holiday Market drew to a close at 3 p.m., marking the end of the 2023 Farmers’ Market season.
The Holiday Market brought together farm vendors, food and beverage artisans, offering an opportunity for the community to support local businesses on Small Business Saturday.
