The New Boston United ice hockey team on Tuesday night played its third game in five days to begin the new season.

Still in search of their first victory, NBU welcomed in another fellow co-op squad that got their season underway on Tuesday in Lakes United.

A big and healthy lead early lifted the Lakes squad to an eventual 8-2 victory over the hosts from New Boston.

This year’s NBU squad features majority from both New Boston Huron and Garden City, with a handful of players from Carleton Airport and Dearborn Heights Crestwood sprinkled in as well. Lakes United meanwhile is a collection of athletes from West Bloomfield as well as both Waterford Kettering and Waterford Mott.
