Piatt Co. postpones tornado siren testing

PIATT COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Tornado siren testing will take place on Thursday in Piatt County, instead of the regularly scheduled first Tuesday of the month.

Piatt County Emergency Management Agency and Piatt County 911 both took to Facebook to share the news with residents.

According to the two agencies, Emergency Services in Piatt County will conduct their tornado siren testing on Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. in Monticello, White Heath, Seymour, Hammond, Mansfield, Bement and Cisco.

Wind advisory postpones warning siren test in Tolono

Piatt County 911 and EMS reminded residents that although the siren testing is taking place other than on the first Tuesday of the month, this is still only a drill. The sirens will run after scheduled maintenance is completed, according to the agencies.

In Tolono, tornado siren testing was also moved from the first Tuesday of the month. The sirens ran at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 due to weather conditions.
