Pilot suffers minor injuries after small plane crash in Grand County

DENVER (KDVR) — A pilot sustained minor injuries after losing control of a small plane in Grand County Thursday morning.

The county posted about the incident on its Facebook page and said a caller reported that an aircraft crashed at the Kremmling Airport's McElroy Field at about 10 a.m.

The pilot, who is from out-of-state, was practicing taking off and landing from the Kremmling airport when Grand County said he "lost control on the final landing,"

The pilot was taken to Middle Park Medical Center for minor injuries, and the runway was briefly closed.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident.
