Pittsburgh Steelers dodge huge bullet after promising pass rusher goes down with injury

C.Chen29 min ago
INDIANAPOLIS - Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig said that he is okay after having an injury scare in the second quarter of the Steelers' loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Herbig collided with teammate T.J. Watt, and his ankle got crunched underneath his body weight. However, the examination did not reveal a serious injury for Herbig, and he returned to the game.

After the game, head coach Mike Tomlin did not even mention him as an injured player. Herbig told PennLive that he felt alright, but sore after the game. However, the soreness is nothing new for his body after a physical football game, especially when this is by far the most he has played in his career to this point.

  • Herbig had half a sack on the day, and five pressures against Colts left tackle Bernhard Raimann. As long as he is healthy, the Steelers seem set in line and likely to give Herbig a second straight start, with starter Alex Highsmith still nursing a multi-week groin injury.
