Police arrest man following pursuit in northwest Charlotte

A person has been arrested following a pursuit in northwest Charlotte Wednesday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's helicopter responded to an incident on Freedom Drive, according to FlightAware . It then began moving northwest toward Mount Holly.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom followed the helicopter and found a large police presence on Mt. Holly Road.

Shortly after arriving at the scene, Chopper 9 Skyzoom saw a man being arrested. There were over a dozen CMPD units at the scene.

Channel 9 is reaching out to CMPD to learn what the suspect was wanted for.

A judge recused himself Tuesday from presiding over Arizona's fake electors case after an email surfaced in which he told fellow judges to speak out against attacks on Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign for the presidency. In the Aug. 29 email, Maricopa County Judge Bruce Cohen lamented that he didn't speak out when Harris was called a "DEI hire," believes that white men must speak out against unfair treatment of women, and raised a historical lesson from the Holocaust about the need to speak up when people are attacked. Cohen didn't specify who made the comment regarding Harris.

It's shocking video of an elderly man being throw to the ground and handcuffed during a traffic stop. The family of the man shot and killed by Hamilton police on Saturday has identified him as Erixon Kabera — a father of three, known for his kindness and dedication to Hamilton's Rwandan community. An eagled-eyed husband and wife were sailing in Hawaii when they spotted mysterious objects in the distance. Camila and Ryan Sullivan found five scuba divers drifting at sea. They told their rescuers that they were on a diving excursion. When they surfaced, they realized that they drifted away and their dive boat was nowhere to be found.
