Police are asking for the public's assistance in two death investigations, Guam Police Department spokeswoman Officer Berlyn Savella said in a news release Thursday.

On Nov. 1, hunters found human remains along a trail near Hawaii Drive, also known as FAA Road, off Route 3 in Dededo.

Police are still trying to identify the deceased person, who was wearing cargo pants, a maroon or red shirt and black boots.

The person also had tattoos on the left outer leg including:

• An image of a turtle facing toward the feet with the Guam Seal depicted on the turtle's back/shell.

• Four fish and waves depicted below the turtle.

• Two images of latte stones to the left of the turtle.

• Tribal band between upper latte stone image and rear right flipper of the turtle.

Another death

During the early morning hours of Nov. 4, a man with serious injuries was left at the Guam Regional Medical City Emergency Room.

He later died.

The man who dropped him off was wearing a cloth mask and a maroon shirt, possibly a sports jersey. He provided minimal information before leaving in a silver American-made sedan with unreadable license plates.

"Both of these investigations remain active, and we ask for the community's assistance in providing any information that may help bring clarity and closure to these cases," Savella said in the news release. "If you have any details that could assist in identifying the individuals involved or in understanding the circumstances of these cases, please contact police dispatch at 671-475-8615 thru 17."
