Police: Felon affiliated with the ‘gangster disciples’ pulled over with firearms, cannabis
MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — Police arrested alleged affiliate of the "gangster Disciples" Corey Sneed, 30, for possession of firearms and cannabis after being pulled over for driving a vehicle with expired registration.
On November 4th, around 7:40 p.m., police saw a 2010 white Subaru with expired registration turning left on North 2nd Street. Officers eventually pulled the suspect over on Melbourne Avenue.
Authorities said the vehicle smelled of cannabis when the driver told them he did not have his license with him from the passenger side window. Police discovered that Sneed was on parole and needed to be searched.
Officials also requested a K9 that sniffed out cannabis around the side door of the car.
When officers searched the Subaru, they found cannabis, a handgun, magazines, a rifle, a pump action shotgun along with ammunition.
Sneed is charged with illegal possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of cannabis, no valid registration, driving on a suspended license, felon possession of firearms, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in a vehicle and possession of a firearm while being a gang member.
