Police make second arrest after fatal Bronx scooter shooting: NYPD

MOUNT EDEN, The Bronx (PIX11) — A second man is under arrest in connection with a fatal shooting in the Bronx back in April , police say.

Robert Valdez – Pena, 27, was arrested on Friday around 7:45 a.m. He faces charges of second degree murder, four counts of criminal possession of weapon, and four counts of reckless endangerment.

The arrest comes after a shooting at East Mount Eden and Townsend Avenues on April 16. Two men rode up on scooters and opened fire at a group of men standing at the busy intersection, police reported

The shooting left the Bronx neighborhood on edge and forced residents to cancel outdoor events, at the time.

In June, a 21-year-old man named Yunior Calcano Baez, was arrested and charged with second degree murder, three counts of attempted murder, and manslaughter, among other charges.

Police say the shooting was targeted but have yet to identify a possible motive.
