POLICE NEWS: Goshen gas station robbed at gunpoint

Nov. 17—Goshen police responded at 6:41 p.m. Friday to a robbery in progress at AMCO, 112 W. Pike St., where two men had allegedly entered the convenience store and pointed a handgun at the cashier in an attempt to steal money. ARRESTSThree people were jailed on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated in separate incidents. Police also made an arrest on a charge of resisting law enforcement. —A 26-year-old woman was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 12:23 a.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with priors and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop near Elkhart Road and Bashor Road for an equipment violation. —A 23-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 2:18 a.m. Saturday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the 100 block of River Vista Drive. —A 28-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 2:55 a.m. Sunday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he was stopped for a traffic infraction near the intersection of North Chicago Avenue and West Pike Street. —A 31-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 2:12 p.m. Saturday on a charge of resisting law enforcement after police attempted to stop him on his bicycle near of Wilden Avenue and Greene Road for outstanding warrants. AREA CHECK Goshen police received a report of shots fired in Winchester Trails at 3:47 a.m. Sunday. Officers arrived in the area and found no evidence of a shooting. SEARCH WARRANT Goshen police served a search warrant at 6:15 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Cottage Avenue. HIT-AND-RUN Nicholas Kauffman, 18, of Goshen, reported to Goshen police at 7:55 p.m. Friday that someone hit his vehicle in the drive-thru of Wendy's, 2929 Ferndale Road, Elkhart, and left the scene in a black pick-up truck. Goshen police were called to Starcraft Bus, 2367 Century Drive, at 4:53 a.m. Sunday after a door was forced open. —A 28-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 7:31 a.m. Saturday theft from a vehicle in the 800 block of South 10th Street. —A 23-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 9:42 a.m. Saturday that the registration sticker was taken off her license plate in the 200 block of Silverwood Lane. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —A 47-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 11:30 a.m. Saturday damage to the storage unit in the 2900 block of West Wilden Avenue. —A 30-year-old man reported to Goshen police at 5:29 p.m. Saturday the theft of projectors and extension cords from his yard in the 1300 block of South 11th Street.
