The report states while police were taking photos of the Scotts car they located an open bottle of whiskey under the driver's seat. Officials reported that a silver 2012 Cadillac CTS was traveling northbound in the left lane when they saw the Toyota coming in their direction. They attempted to get out of the way but ultimately struck one another. The driver of that car suffered a broken ankle. The passenger in Scott's car was 18-year-old Marilyn Rodriquez who had to extricated from the Toyota and later died at the hospital. Two witnesses helped pull Scott out of her car and said that she smelled of alcohol. Police performed a blood draw on Scott before she went into surgery for a broken leg. NSP reports Scott faces multiple charges, including felony DUI, reckless driving, having an open alcohol container inside a car, and failure to drive properly on a divided highway.
