Police: 16-year-old boy shot in the throat on Bloomington’s west side

BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Bloomington Police confirm a 16-year-old boy was shot and is in critical condition after a shooting late Thanksgiving morning on the city’s west side. Officers were called shortly before 10:55 a.m. to the 400 block of Valley View Circle, near the Traditions Bloomington Apartments. A desk sergeant said the teenager was shot in the throat. There have been no arrests, according to police. The victim was taken to a hospital in the Twin Cities, then transported by Life Flight helicopter to a Peoria hospital, police said. Police Chief Jamal Simington released the following statement: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim of this violent encounter.
