Polls are open in Alabama, Tennessee for 2024 general election

( WHNT ) — The polls are now open across the Tennessee Valley for the 2024 general election.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. If you need to check your registration status or the address of your polling place,.

When you arrive at the polling place, you'll provide your name to a poll worker and present an acceptable form of photo identification.

Races we are watching

There are 13 contested races and three local amendments on the ballot in different North Alabama counties. Your Local Election Headquarters will have crews all over the Tennessee Valley giving you updates from courthouses and campaign parties!

We'll be following the results as they come in for commission races in Madison, Marshall, Limestone, Franklin and Jackson counties. You can find out more about those races below:

    Need a ride to the polls?

    The Alabama Democratic Reform Caucus (ADRC) will offer free rides to the polling places on Election Day.

    The organization does not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, physical ability or political affiliation. All you need is to be a registered voter with an active state-issued ID or free voter ID card.
