According to the Waze map, traffic is backed up into Ludlow of the Mass. Pike at this time.
Brush fire danger continues to be very high on Thursday due to ongoing dry, breezy weather. Fire officials are asking residents not to burn outdoors, put out smoking materials completely before disposal, and common sense with any outdoor activity that involves open flames, sparks and embers, or other ignition sources.
Fire departments across Massachusetts have been working around the clock to put out hundreds of brush fires across the region. There were fires recently in Northampton, Montgomery, Whately, Chicopee, and the list goes on. Fire crews had to closely monitor these fires to make sure that it was fully out. All of these brushes come after months of dry weather conditions and people not properly disposing of hazardous products.
