Preschool hosts lemonade stand to fundraise for flood relief

SERGEANT BLUFF, IA (KTIV) - A Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, pre-school is raising money for flood victims by selling lemonade.

It's all a free will donation for flood victims. The pre-schoolers, at Bluff's Little Thinkers, have lemonade, Kool-aid and cookies to offer.

Once the students finish raising money, they'll buy much needed items... and drop those items off at the different collection points around Siouxland that are set-up for flood victims.

"Why are you doing this?" our reporter asked. "Because people have lost their houses due to floods," one student, Josie, said. Oliver was also asked why he was selling lemonade.

"For flood victims," he answered succinctly.

Bluff's Little Thinkers will announce the total amount of money they've raised on their Facebook page on Monday. Aggies Catering Specialists will match the donation dollar for dollar.

And if you've missed out on buying some lemonade the last few days, you'll still have another chance, on Monday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Other preschools are expected to start a similar effort next week, so be on the lookout anytime you're in Sergeant Bluff in the coming days.
