B.Hernandez22 min ago
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) -The Black Hills National Forest Mystic Ranger District is conducting a prescribed burn near Victoria Lake and First Thunder Roads from today through Friday. The Forest Service plans to burn up to 250 acres on the Victoria Project. The area is located about 5 miles southwest of Rapid City. Smoke from the prescribed burn will be visible throughout the day of the burn and may persist for several days. Firefighters will be on-site during the ignition and will continue to monitor the area with patrols in the days following the burn. To ensure the safety of firefighters and the public, we ask forest visitors, recreational shooters, and hunters to consider using alternate locations. Signs will be posted where burning operations are occurring to alert visitors. Please stay aware of your surroundings.
