Prince George's County police identify suspect in May homicide

- Prince George's County police officers are searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a May homicide.

Police say 44-year-old Fausto Galeano-Soriano of Riverdale has been charged with the murder of 53-year-old Angel Martinez of Riverdale.

Martinez was found unresponsive on the road in the 5700 block of Riverdale Road around 5:20 p.m. on May 15.

Following an autopsy, the Medical Examiner's Office said Martinez died from blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

An arrest report gives more details about what occurred before a man was shot to death Wednesday in the 3200 block of West Edgewood Avenue. Investigators observed surveillance video that showed the victim driving an orange Chevrolet Camaro with orange rims at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road, according to the JSO arrest report for Lavertis Reed, 20, who was charged with murder in the shooting. As the victim's vehicle crossed the intersection, a white vehicle with dark rims was observed on the surveillance video driving south at a high rate of speed on New Kings Road, the arrest report states.

A Russian court sentenced a Moscow paediatrician to 5-1/2 years in a penal colony on Tuesday, Russian media said, after the mother of one of her patients publicly denounced her over comments about Russian soldiers in Ukraine. Former U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, a New York Republican who resigned from Congress following a tax fraud conviction, is paralyzed from the chest down after being thrown from a horse during a polo tournament, according to friends who are raising funds to pay for the ex-lawmaker's medical care. Grimm, 54, suffered the devastating injury in September and is now being treated at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey, where the late actor Christopher Reeve was treated after a similar equestrian accident in 1995, according to Vincent Ignizio, a friend of Grimm's who is a former New York City Council member. "It was a passion of his and he suffered a tragic accident at the end of September," said Ignizio, who has set up a GoFundMe account to pay for Grimm's medical care.
