Princess Charlene and Princess Gabriella Steal the Spotlight in Matching Looks for Monaco’s National Day

Princess Charlene and Princess Gabriella of Monaco are celebrating the principality's National Day in mother-daughter style that's totally très chic. On Nov. 19, Princess Charlene, 46, and Princess Gabriella, 9, made a coordinating fashion statement at the country's national day, also called Prince's Day or La Fête du Prince. The royal mom and daughter were effortlessly complementary in their pastels at the festivities, where Charlene wore a lavender suit set and Gabriella popped in a periwinkle coat dress. Princess Gabriella was her mom's mini-me down to the accessories, as the little princess had her hair swept back (just like her mom!) with a headband. Princess Charlene topped her look with an accessory ever-popular with royal women — a fascinator — which was lavender with dramatic black plumes. Princess Charlene and Princess Gabriella weren't the only ones who matched their fashion at National Day — so did Prince Albert and Prince Jacques , Gabriella's twin brother. Prince Albert, 66, suited up alongside his 9-year-old son in black military uniforms with hats, and Prince Jacques, who is the heir to the throne, even practiced his best salute during the military parade. Monaco has celebrated National Day since 1734. While the actual date of celebration has rotated through the years, in correlation with the day of the reigning Sovereign Prince's patron saint, Prince Albert chose to honor it on Nov. 19 like his late father, Prince Rainier , did as the sovereign of Monaco. Continuing tradition, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended a morning mass at Monaco Cathedral on Nov. 19 and later stepped out in the Court of Honor at Princely Palace with their twins. The royals then appeared on the palace balcony alongside many other members of their famous family, including Prince Albert's sisters, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie, Caroline's kids Charlotte Casiraghi, Andrea Casiraghi, Pierre Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra of Hanover, Stephanie's kids Louis Ducruet, Camille Gottlieb and Pauline Ducruet, several spouses and some of the princess' grandchildren. Princess Gabriella and Princes Jacques' personalities shined on the palace perch, and their adorable antics were reminiscent of some of Prince George , Princess Charlotte , and Prince Louis ' past cameos on the Buckingham Palace balcony! As they watched the parade go by, Prince Jacques leaned his head on his hand, bit his finger and had an animated reaction to something he saw. A memorable moment was when both twins — who turn 10 on Dec. 10 — both leaned forward into the sunshine. Prince Albert and his sisters are the children of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace (née Kelly). Prince Albert previously joked to PEOPLE about how their expanding family can create a bit of a hiccup on National Day — no room on the palace balcony! "We're running out of space for everyone," Prince Albert told PEOPLE in 2019 of the classic National Day moment. "We're going to have to create new windows, build new balconies." Turning half-serious, he added, "It is actually an issue. Before we used to have family and high-ranking staff from the palace, people who worked with us very closely from the household stand in the windows. There's no room." The family watched the army parade go by at the Palace Square, much like how the British royal family packs the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Colour. Celebrating the occasion, the court also released a cute new portrait of Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella. "Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella wish you a happy National Day," the palace wrote, sharing a new shot of the twins together on the palace steps, along with an emoji of the national flag. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? , Meghan Markle and more!
