Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes Near Chicago: Fall 2024 Guide To help you enjoy the beauty of fall, Patch has compiled a list of pumpkin patches and corn mazes to visit in the Chicago area.

ILLINOIS — The breeze is crisp, leaves are shifting into vibrant colors, and there's a certain coziness in the air. That means one thing: The time of year to visit pumpkin patches and corn mazes is here.

Many farms around the Chicago area are bustling as locals and visitors make the trek out to pick pumpkins, collect apples and stock up on all things autumn. It's almost like a right-of-way for the season.

To help with the search, Patch has compiled a list of our favorite patches in and around the Chicago area.

Sonny Acres Farm

  • Address: 29W310 North Ave. in West Chicago
  • Season: Through Oct. 30
  • Attractions: The Sonny Express, self-feed zoo, pony rides, sweet shop, haunted hayride and haunted barn (starting Sept. 29)
  • Hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Closed Mondays.

    Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm

  • : 13236 W. Town Line Road in Waukegan
  • Season: Through Oct. 31
  • Attractions: Hayride, corn maze (this year's theme is goats), petting zoo, pumpkin patch
  • Hours of operation:
  • : Admission costs $14 for adults and $12 for children ages 3-12. No admission is required for kids ages 2 and under. Tickets are only required on weekends. Certain activities have an associated fee during weekdays.

    Didier Farms

  • : 16678 W. Aptakisic Road in Lincolnshire
  • Season: Through Oct. 27
  • Attractions: Animal Land Zoo, Corny Corn Maze, camel rides, agriculture rides, pumpkin playland, kids activities, bake shop, concessions. Horse-drawn wagon rides, draft horse rides and silly string are available only on weekends.
  • Hours of operation: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
  • Cost: There is no admission fee. Tickets are available for purchase at $1 per ticket. All attractions and rides require seven or fewer tickets .

    Goebbert's Farm and Garden Center - South Barrington

  • : 40 W. Higgins Road in South Barrington
  • Season: Through Oct. 30
  • Attractions: Animal Land, corn stalk maze, duck derby, pony rides, giraffe barn, camel rides, wagon rides, magic show, jumping pillow, pig races, corn box, gem mining and more.
  • Hours of operation:
  • Cost: Tickets for activities must be purchased online. Entrance to the farm is free of charge, but tickets are required for activities.

    Goebbert's Pumpkin Patch & Apple Orchard - Pingree Grove/Hampshire

  • : 42W813 Reinking Road in Pingree Grove
  • Season: Through Oct. 31
  • Attractions: Haunted house, kiddie playland, giant pumpkin slide, tire mountain, pumpkin cannon, straw maze, jumping pillow, corn box, pig races and more.
  • Hours of operation:
  • Cost: General admission tickets to the fall festival cost $19 per person on weekdays and $25 per person on weekends. Admission for children 2 and under is free. A weekday season pass costs $55 per person.

    Stade's Farm & Market

  • Season: Through Oct. 27
  • Attractions: Apple cannons, barn and play house, climbing web, corn maze, duck races, petting zoo, pumpkin cannon, slide mountain, tractor pull, zipline and more.
  • Hours of operation: Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Cost: General admission ranges depending on when you visit. A season pass costs $55. Children ages 2 and under are admitted for free.

    Kuiper's Family Farm

  • Attractions: Tractor train, corn maze, pig races, jumping pillow, corn box, tractor tire mountain, pedal tractor derby, haunted forest, hayride, farm animals and more.

  • Cost: October prices are $21.99 online/$23.99 at the gate on weekends and $18.99 online/$20.99 at the gate weekdays. Admission for military personnel with ID and seniors 65 and older, available only at the gate, is $11.99. Free for kids age 2 and younger.

  • Hours of operation: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Cost: Admission is $19.95 weekdays and $24.95 weekends. A weekend combo pass is $27.95, and an all-inclusive weekend pass costs $36.95. Free admission for military/veterans, police and fire with ID.

    Bengtson's

  • Attractions: Tractor Town, Happy Swing, chicken truck, mega slide, cow coaster, free selfie booth, gemstone and arrowhead mining, pony rides, petting zoo, haunted barn, fun barn.
  • Hours of operation: Open 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

    Johansen's Farm

  • Cost: Weekday prices are $15.95 per person, and weekend prices are $22.95 per person. Entrance for seniors ages 62 and older is $13.95 weekdays and $20.95 weekends. Admission to the zoo is free for veterans and military personnel with valid ID and children 23 months and under. Entrance to the market area, pumpkin patch and bakery is free for everyone.

    Heap's Giant Pumpkin Farm

  • Season: Through Oct. 31
  • Attractions: Hayrides, pumpkin patch, flashlight maze, giant farm slide, bean maze, farm animals, haunted corn maze, moonlight hayrides and bean maze.
  • Hours of operation:
  • Cost: Weekday admission for people ages 3 and up is $8 per person, while weekend admission is $12 per person. The price includes access to all mazes, playgrounds, hayrides and the U-Pick pumpkin patch. Costs vary for the flashlight maze, haunted corn maze and moonlight hayrides.

    Dollinger Family Farm

  • Attractions: Corn maze, play areas, farm animals, bee barn, corn bin, train rides, hay rides, face painting (some activities only available on weekends).
  • Hours of operation: Farm is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Cost: Admission is free, but some activities cost: $4.50 per person for the corn maze, $4.50-$9 for face painting, and $4.50 per person for train rides.

    Konow's Corn Maze

  • Attractions: Corn maze, animal barn, indoor playland, jumping pillows, straw playground, cow train express, hay rides, pony rides, indoor Western town, climbing webs.
  • Hours of operation:
  • Cost: $15 Monday through Friday and $18 Saturday and Sunday. Active military personnel, veterans and children 2 and younger enter for free. Reservations are not required, and advance-purchased tickets are not available. Admission is free for veterans and military personnel with ID.
