McCaskey QB Jalen Cintron (271 passing yards, 2 TD tosses) hit WR Alisay Ramos four times for 100 yards in the Red Tornado's 38-14 loss to Reading. ... Governor Mifflin FB Grady Garner was terrific between the tackles with 178 yards, including a 34-yard TD rumble, in the Mustangs' close-call 28-21 setback against unscathed Conestoga Valley. ... Ephrata was upended 10-7 by backyard rival Cocalico in a rematch of last year's D3-5A title game, but the Mountaineers produced a pair of 100-yard rushers, with QB Caleb Grant (108 yards) and RB Brayden Brown (106 yards, including a 76-yard TD romp) topping the mark. ... Fleetwood WR Chase Domenech had four catches for 131 yards, including a spiffy 97-yard TD snag in the Tigers' 35-14 loss against Warwick. Kutztown RB Brenden Ackley, a 1,000-yard rusher last season, had his first 100-yard game this fall, with 110 yards and four TD bursts in the Cougars' close-call 35-34 setback vs. Berks Catholic. ... QB Tyler Shuey passed for 202 yards with a TD toss and WR Ty Werley caught six passes for 129 yards, but Hamburg fell to Pequea Valley 24-17 and fell out of a first-place tie with Schuylkill Valley in Section 5. ... Cedar Crest RB Isaiah Zimmerman scooted for 137 yards, including an 80-yard TD sprint, in the Falcons' 38-13 loss against unbeaten Manheim Township.
BONUS NUGGET I: In his three varsity starts, McMonagle has thrown the two longest TD passes from scrimmage so far in the league this season. He had the 97-yarder to Domenech vs. Warwick, and in Week 6, he lobbed a 95-yard TD toss to Tristin McFarland in a 28-0 win vs. Kennard-Dale. Not too shabby.
