Raúl Grijalva easily wins reelection to U.S. House
Democratic Rep. Raúl Grijalva won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Arizona's 7th District on Tuesday.
He defeated Republican Daniel Butierez.
Grijalva resperesents a district that spans the western half of Tucson, much of the Arizona-Mexico border in Cochise County and southwestern Arizona all the way to Yuma.
The Associated Press declared Grijalva the winner at 7:39 p.m., less than an hour after the polls closed in Arizona.
Grijalva disclosed this spring that he'd been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The win Tuesday night is his 12th consecutive election victory since first winning the seat in 2002.
