Rapid City offices adjust hours for Veterans Day holiday

Rapid City offices will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

Most city services will be suspended.

The Rapid City Landfill will be closed Veterans Day.

Monday's trash and recycling collection will take place Tuesday, Nov. 12, with Tuesday through Friday collections proceeding as scheduled. Residents should leave trash out until collected.

Rapid Transit Service's RapidRide and Dial-A-Ride services will not be operating on Veterans Day. Transit operations will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The Rapid City Public Library and The Monument will also be closed on Veterans Day.

The Rapid City Airport will be open on the holiday, however administrative offices will be closed. Travelers should check with the airlines for arrival/departure information.

The administrative offices of both the Rapid City Fire Department and Rapid City Police Department will be closed on Friday with normal shift operations in place.

The Roosevelt Park Swim Center will offer open swim at noon on Veterans Day. The Roosevelt Park Ice Arena will offer public skate from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the holiday.

Veterans Day events in Rapid City include a ceremony at the Hive at The Shops at Main Street Square, the annual downtown Veterans Day Parade and luncheon at VFW Post 1273.
