If you're a history buff with a small fortune laying around going to waste, you may want to get over to North Carolina.

That's where a rare copy of the U.S. Constitution is being bid on.

This particular copy of one of the nation's founding documents was created after the Articles of Confederation were approved by Congress in 1787.

At that time, U.S. Secretary Charles Thomson sent off two signed copies to each of the 13 states.

Of those 26 copies, only eight are known to still be in existence. This copy was found in a cabinet on a property once owned by a former governor of North Carolina.

It Is being auctioned off by Bruhk Auctions in Asheville, and the $1 million minimum bid has reportedly already been met.
