SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — A rare copy of the Gettysburg Address is now on display at the Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library in Springfield, Illinois.

This handwritten version of the iconic speech, one of only five main copies, will be available for public viewing for the next ten days. President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863, following the pivotal Battle of Gettysburg in July of that year, a turning point in the Civil War.

The display runs through November 24. After that, the document will be returned to the vault for preservation.

On November 14, 1969, the Apollo 12 mission launched to the moon. This was the second moon landing of the Apollo program. The two astronauts on board were Pete Conrad and Alan Bean. Richard Gordon stayed in the command module and orbited the moon while his crewmates went to the surface. The astronauts made a pinpoint landing in a lunar mare called the Ocean of Storms. The previous moon mission, Apollo 11, drifted far from the planned landing zone. But Apollo 12 landed close to a scientific target. That target was a robotic lander called Surveyor 3. Scientists wanted to look at Surveyor 3 to see how well the spacecraft lasted on the moon since it landed there more than two years earlier. Apollo 12 also did a lot of moon science. The astronauts picked up 75 pounds of moon rocks. Most of the rocks were basalts that formed from molten lava. These basalts showed the Apollo 12 landing site is more than 3 billion years old.

In the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's decision to appoint ex-Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard as his Director of National Intelligence, reports have resurfaced of her ties to a religious sect described as a "cult"—a connection that has the potential to throw her nomination, which requires Senate confirmation, into jeopardy. Gabbard became the first American Samoan and practicing Hindu in Congress when she joined the U.S. House representing Hawaii's 2nd congressional district in 2013. She re

Wanda Sykes said that even though she "got her hopes up," about Kamala Harris potentially winning the election, she wasn't surprised when Donald Trump won—and she revealed why on Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. "I mean it's so many reasons why you can say it happened," Sykes said on the show, "But I think you know, a lot of us aren't, like, totally shocked" because "sometimes America is just gonna America." Even though she wasn't floored by the results, Sykes admitted she's not feeling great about

Buckingham Palace just treated us to a stroll down memory lane with some throwback snaps of Kate Middleton on their Instagram Story. And while we all know the Princess of Wales always looks stunning, one pic in particular has me absolutely swooning because of her show-stopping, glittering gold gown. Let's rewind to 2021, when the royal family attended the premiere of the James Bond film No Time To Die. Middleton arrived looking like pure Hollywood glamour in a gown by Jenny Packham—a piece that

The U.S. Senate election in Pennsylvania between Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick is headed for a statewide recount, as counties continued Wednesday to sort through outstanding ballots and the campaigns jousted over which ones should count. The Associated Press called the race for McCormick last week, concluding that not enough ballots remained to be counted in areas Casey was winning for him to take the lead. A noon deadline passed Wednesday for Casey to waive his right to a statewide recount and Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro's top election official, Secretary of State Al Schmidt, a Republican, announced that preliminary results had triggered a legally required statewide recount.
