Reader's View: NLX train would beat taking the bus
I hear a lot of people who say the Northern Lights Express train won't be worth the taxpayers' money and no one will ride it. I disagree, especially since a midday bus from Duluth to Minneapolis was discontinued, and the only buses going that route now are in the early morning or evening.
A couple of weeks ago, I rode the evening bus to Minneapolis, and it took more than four hours. It was late at night by the time I got there. It also took four hours to get back to Duluth. I'm sure the NLX train would take less time and cost about the same.
Not everyone wants to have to catch a bus early in the morning or arrive late at night. I, like others, would take the train from Duluth to Minneapolis if it ran midday.
Another thing is the new Minneapolis bus terminal isn't in a good location and is confusing to exit, especially at night.
