Rebecca Lynn McLean

After a brave fight against pancreatic cancer, Rebecca Lynn (Becky) McLean left for heaven on October 8, 2024 while at home in Longmont, Colorado. Becky was born on February 18, 1961 in Denver, the youngest of the three children of Richard Dean and Barbara June (Anderson) Trevithick. The Trevithick family moved to Longmont in 1967 where Becky attended elementary and junior high schools, graduating from Niwot High School in 1979. She attended Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota studying graphic arts before transferring to Colorado State University to major in Occupational Therapy, graduating from CSU with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. On May 26, 1984 Becky married Mark Alan McLean, also of Longmont, at Calvary Church where they originally met and where both families long attended. After finishing internships at the State Hospital in Pueblo and at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Aurora she began her OT career, first at Beth Israel Hospital in Denver and then at Boulder Memorial Hospital. Becky and Mark welcomed three daughters, Emily Joy, Anna Grace and Laura Ellen in 1989, 1991 and 1995. After taking time off to raise her young girls, and when they were in school all day, Becky returned to work part-time. This allowed her to create the home and family life she so valued, to maintain her OT skills, and to actively participate at church and in the girls' schools. During the last nearly 20 years of her career she spent a year at Longs Peak Hospital (with daughter Emily) and many years at Life Care Center of Longmont. Becky served her clients with dedication and compassion, connecting especially with her geriatric patients. At work she made lifelong and cherished friends. Suffering pain that made working difficult, Becky retired in April 2023 shortly before her cancer diagnosis in May of that year. Becky was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Ernest and Catherine Anderson, paternal grandparents Joseph and Doris Trevithick, and step-grandmother Elizabeth Trevithick. She is survived by husband Mark, daughters Emily (Bryce) Boynton, Anna (Anthony) Nguyen, and Laura (Timothy) Finnegan, father Richard Trevithick, mother Barbara Trevithick (subsequently deceased October 13, 2024), brother Timothy (Paula) Trevithick, sister Elizabeth (John) Wright, grandchildren Clara Jo Boynton, Hattie Lynn Boynton, Lyric Shirley Boynton, Harper Jane Finnegan, and Owen David Finnegan, and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Becky's family wishes to thank Drs. Powell, Del Chiaro and Barnett along with the many other doctors and nurses at Longs Peak Hospital, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, and Trailwinds Hospice for their excellent, compassionate care. Even more, no expression of thanks can sufficiently convey the family's gratitude for all of the love, prayers, and support from the multitude of friends and family who have cared for Becky and her family in so many ways. A memorial service for Becky will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Grace Church, 2415 Lake Park Drive, Longmont, CO 80503. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
