Recapping how the Buffalo Bills let another win slip away vs. Eagles

S.Chen3 months ago
The Buffalo Bills (6-6) desperately needed to emerge victorious during Sunday afternoon’s road clash vs. the reigning NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles (10-1). Instead, the Bills blew a 24-14 second-half lead and suffered a 37-34 loss to the Eagles in overtime, a game that greatly diminished Buffalo’s playoff odds.

Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks offers up observations and analysis from Buffalo’s setback vs. the Eagles.

Recapping Buffalo’s 37-34 OT loss to the Eagles Fans can complain all they want about the officiating during the Eagles game, and they certainly have a valid point when you consider the no-call on the horsecollar penalty Haason Reddick committed on Josh Allen, the no-call on the pass interference calls against wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Trent Sherfield, the no-call on the hit to defenseless receiver Dalton Kincaid, and more.

But the bottom line is running back James Cook dropped a would-be touchdown, kicker Tyler Bass missed two field goals, wide receiver Gabe Davis appeared to turn the wrong way on what could have been a game-clinching TD in overtime, and, somehow, Sean McDermott once again didn’t close out a lead late as the Bills saw their playoff hits take a major blow with the loss in Philadelphia.

Observations and analysis from Bills’ loss vs. Eagles Despite Josh Allen being the best player on the field, the Bills weren’t able to hold on to a late lead. Read how the defense once again came up short when it mattered most, explore how Buffalo’s overtime woes continued, take the referees to task for some of their egregious calls (and that non-horsecollar call against Reddick) that seemed to favor the Eagles all game long, and more!
