Obituaries submitted on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays are accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by email only

(No proofs will be furnished. Pricing will not be available until the next business day after 10:00am by calling Dianne at 610-915-2226)

Obituaries received after Deadline will not be published in the following edition of the paper.

Sending Procedure:

Email is the preferable method for receiving Obituaries (and the only method on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays), they can be sent to (Feel free to call and confirm that we've received the email)

Formatting:

Obituaries will continue to visually look the same as they currently do, but you will no longer be restricted in what you can say (ex. As much Family can be listed as you'd like; Wording like "Went to rest with the Lord" is now permissible)

Other:

There is a cost for each obituary. Pricing and payments are only available Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. All weekend and holiday submissions will be provided a cost the next business day.

Exceptions:

All New accounts, Out of State Funeral Homes and Private Parties will require prepayment upon approval of the obituary. Weekend and Holiday staff are not authorized to set up a new account or process payments

Deadline for the above is before 4:00 PM Mon – Fri. only (Holiday schedules may vary).

Prepayment required submissions will be handled on the very first business day following the weekend and/or holiday schedule. A complete name, address and best contact phone number are required upon submittal of your obituary request to set up your account. A proof will then be emailed for review but placed on hold until payment is received.

Cars, Coffee and Christ: is Saturday Sept. 21 in St. Matthew's parking lot at 160 Fairview Road, Woodlyn, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. (weather permitting). The free show-up anytime event is presented by Immanuel, Norwood and St. Matthew Lutheran churches. No pre-registration is required. Car owners and fans always enjoy a cup of coffee and the opportunity to show and/or chat about their cars. The event combines these activities with Christian fellowship. This event is open to all makes, models and faiths. There will be a mailbox for prayer requests. Community Flea Market/Craft Fair Slavic Food Festival: is Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Holy Myrrh-Bearers Church, 900 Fairview Road, in Ridley Township. If you or your family have non-food items to sell or if you are a non-food vendor, spaces are now being offered for only $25. Spaces will be approximately 10-by-16 feet. Vehicles may be parked next door at Notre Dame's parking lot. A check for $25 per space is requested by Sept. 15 to secure your nonfood vendor space. Hope Thru Wholeness: presented by St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Norwood, and Prospect United Methodist Church, Prospect Park, will feature a free farmers market and resource fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Prospect UM, 800 Lincoln Ave. Vendors will offer free food, resources, formula, diapers and more. St John Neumann garage sale: at St John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, is planned for Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is a major fundraiser for the parish. You will find wonderful treasures at bargain prices all donated by parishioners.

The Saint John Fisher Seniors: are planning a trip to the Tropicana in Atlantic City on Monday, Oct. 14. Cost is $75 and includes the bus, $25 in slot cash, and a show entitled "The Atlantic City Boys." Includes all tips and taxes. Fall Craft and Vendor Fair: an event of Touching Lives Ministry Inc., an international nonprofit whose home office is in Upper Chichester is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Upper Chichester Furey Road Rec Center, 8500 Furey Road. Join the St. John Fisher Seniors on the Hill: on a trip to the American Music Theater in Lancaster on Tuesday, Dec. 10 the annual Christmas show Joy To The World. State St., Media, distributes food Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m and Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. The church's Clothing Closet mainly takes private appointments, which can be scheduled by calling the church office at 610-566-3172. Turning Point Ministries: is a Catholic organization of men and women, who work with the Blessed Mother and Holy Spirit to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, our savior, to the world in various locations and manners.
