Mrs. Mayeux's working years were as a bookkeeper. After retirement, she enjoyed reading and devoted time to Trinity Episcopal Church, where she put her talents to use in preparing the altar for services.

Family reunions, especially those of the Nalley family, held a special place in her heart, where she treasured the bonds of kinship and tradition.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Chevallier; husbands, O.M. Nalley, Jr. and Ivan J. Mayeux; two brothers and their wives, Parvin Chevallier (Jewell) and D.C. Chevallier (Rita); one great-grandson, Skylar Sepulvado; and nephew, Parvin Glen Chevallier.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Bobbie Robinson and Billie Sepulvado (Don); one son, Joe Mayeux; two grandsons, Tracey White (Tammy) and Todd Sepulvado (Michelle); one granddaughter, Leslie Mayeux; three great granddaughters, Nichole Ezernack (Donnie), Mary Rivers (Jake), and Christina Sepulvado; three great great grandchildren, Landri Ezernack, Jaxon Rivers, and Eli Sepulvado; and a host of extended family, nieces, nephews, grands, great grands, and great great grands.
