Rep. Frank Burns called as winner over Bradley, ‘A win for Cambria County’

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — After a multi-day count of votes, Cambria County announced the winner for the seat of State Representative.

Frank Burns (D), state house incumbent, was called as the winner against his opponent Amy Bradley (R) on Friday, Nov. 8. The county spent around four days counting votes after an issue with the ballots came to light early Tuesday morning.

Voting hours were extended to 10 p.m. while officials could secure new ballots from Pittsburgh, as a way to ensure all voters had the opportunity to cast their ballots safely and fairly.

"I am incredibly humbled to have received the only endorsements that matter, the votes of Cambria County people," Burns said in a statement. "Thank you for your support and trust. I remain dedicated to improving our local economy, making our communities safer, and bringing back more state resources to invest in Cambria County."

Burns went onto highlight that this election was a win for the people of Cambria County and another "humiliating" defeat for the "outsiders and local business elites" who funded what he called an "incredibly divisive, dishonest and bitter campaign."
