WEBSTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Thursday, the Public Service Commission of New York approved RG&E to provide $5 million in development grants to fairlife.

The dairy giant, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola, is building its flagship processing facility in Webster. In total, the investment into the project exceeds $630 million dollars.

More state funds were also given to the town of Webster to upgrade its wastewater treatment facility into a water resource recovery facility.

According to a press release in June from the utility company and its parent company, Avangrid, these grants will help create jobs and keep the project on time.

An earlier press r elease issued by the state in May 2023 stated that RG&E/Avangrid would provide "economic development assistance which will help offset electric infrastructure costs for this project."

In August of 2023, the state announced that the fairlife site was a recipient of "FAST NY" money; a program that awards grants to shovel-ready projects. See that announcement below:

County of Monroe IDA (COMIDA) – $20 million: The site at 1900 Tebor Road in Webster is being developed to attract agribusiness and industrial machinery manufacturing. Funding will be used to upgrade the existing electrical infrastructure. Total project cost: $27 million
