The Bergan girls golf team capped their season in North Platte in the Class C state tournament held at Lake Maloney Golf Club.

"It was a wild two days at state golf, but the girls fought back to two solid days of golf," said Bergan coach Jeremy Murman. "They showed their resiliency and grit."

Junior Avery Ridder finished in a tie for 49th place, finishing at +56, 200. She shot a 106 on the opening day of the tournament then followed it up with a 94 on the second day.

Ridder carded a birdie on both days—on the par five third on Monday and the par four sixth Tuesday.

"Avery got off to a really rocky start both days but she came back and dominated her second nine both days," Murman said. "She had opportunities all year to learn a little bit from some rough stretches and she passed the test these last two days."

Senior Ellie Sendgraff capped her career with a 201 at the state tournament, finishing in a tie for 51st place. She shot a 101 to start then ended the year with a 100.

"After the way she started this year, she never ever gave up and hung in right until the last putt dropped on her 36th hole," Murman said.

She's the first four-time state qualifier for the Bergan girl's golf program and leaves with one state medal.

Wayne captured the Class C team title by one stoke over Minden—696 to 697.

Minden's Kara Suchsland took home the individual state title with a +10, 154.
