Robert S. Knight, of Simpson Street in Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Oct. 5, 1918, in Ashley, he was the son of
the late Raymond and Margaret Evans Knight. Before retiring he was an office
manager at the warehouse for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. He was a
U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II and a member of the American Legion
Post 132 in Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond
Knight; and sister, Marion Altemose. Surviving are his wife, the former
Elizabeth Weaver; daughter, Sandy Jones, Wilkes-Barre; two grandchildren; and
one great-grandson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the
Frederick & Snowdon Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev.
Sandy Piccone, of the First Assembly of God Church in Wilkes-Barre,
officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of
services Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
American Red Cross or to the American Diabetes Association.
