Denver weather: What to expect as snow falls through end of week
According to RMNP, the park sees an estimated 4.5 million visits annually.
RMNP will be continuing the timed-entry reservation system for 2025 in order to help address crowding in the park, avoid congestion and limit the impacts on resources around the park.
The system was established through the Day Use Visitor Access Plan which was approved in May 2024 and helps the park staff keep up with daily demands.
Visitors of the park can select from two reservation options which include the Bear Lake Road Corridor permit and the Rest of the Park permit.
Bear Lake Road Corridor permit
This permit gives visitors access to the entire Bear Lake Corridor as well as the rest of the park. The reservation time period for this permit lasts from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Rest of the Park permit
This permit allows visitors to access all areas of the park excluding the Bear Lake Road Corridor. The reservation time period for this permit lasts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
These Colorado roads will be impacted the most by November snowstorm
Those who use the reservation system to receive a permit can enter the park within two hours of availability and have no set time for departure. The reservation system applies to all areas within the park.
Reservations are free to visitors aside from a $2 processing fee that goes to recreation.gov.
The timed-entry reservation system will end at separate times for each permit with the Bear Lake Road Corridor system ending on Oct. 20 and the Rest of the Park system ending on Oct. 14.
