Roundup: Skaneateles boys hockey wins again at W. Genesee
The Skaneateles boys hockey team extended its record to 2-0 this season with a win at West Genesee on Wednesday, 4-0.
Luke Bobbett led with 1 goal and 1 assist, followed by Andrew Gaglione with 2 assists. Goals were also scored by Trevor Jensen, Luke Mizro and Cole Palmer. Goalie Danny Angelina recorded 16 saves.
The Lakers will next battle Baldwinsville at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Shove Park in Camillus.
Boys hockey
Auburn 2, Fayetteville-Manlius 5: The Maroons opened their season with a loss to the Hornets Wednesday at Midstate Athletic Community Center in Cicero. Goalie Jonah Young recorded 23 saves in 51 minutes. Scoring goals were Jack Pineau and, with the first of his career, Seamus Gentile-Ovens. Assists were recorded by Evan Moore, Chris Tarby and, with his first career point, Judah Young. Auburn will next visit Ithaca on Friday, Dec. 1.
Boys basketball
Jordan-Elbridge 51, Southern Cayuga 48: Nolan Brunelle led the Eagles with 19 points, followed by Preston Murray with 14, in their first game of the season. Also scoring were Lewis Vincent with three 3-pointers for 9 points, Kauchuan Gorman with 4 points, Chase Brunelle with 3 points and John Travernia with 2 points.
