Roundup: Skaneateles girls tennis wins in first round of sectionals

Skaneateles girls tennis took its Section III, Class C first-round matchup against Manlius-Pebble Hill on Friday at home by a score of 4-3.

The Lakers won two of their singles matches and doubles matches to propel them to the victory. The duos of Addy Pavlus and MaryKate Holst, and Lily Bennett and Millie Wu each won their doubles match in straight sets.

On the singles side, Addison Zieler came out on top in her match in straight sets, while Katherine Danforth won 1-0.

Skaneateles is back on the court Monday when it takes on No. 1 Cazenovia on the road in the quarterfinals.

Jordan-Elbridge 46, Port Byron 6: Joey Lafluer caught five passes for 160 yards and four touchdowns on Friday in the Eagles' home win. Quarterback Nixon Karcz threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 75 yards on 12 carries on the ground. Colton Munson and Nick Loperfido ended with seven and six tackles, respectively.

Auburn 3, Corcoran 1 (25-12, 25-15, 20-25, 25-18): The Maroons took the first two sets and the fourth on Friday in a win at home. Grace Mack finished with 17 total points, seven blocks and seven digs. Shaliyah Helmick racked up 8 total points, six digs, two blocks and one assist, while Quinn Hoselton had 11 assists and 2 total points.
